In case I haven't already mentioned it a million times, the last few weeks have been crazy-busy round here. Were I organised about numbers like my lovely pal, Julie, I would be saving this up for a nice, neat monthly round-up post all of its own, but I'm not. So please pretend to be suitably impressed when I tell you that in the last six weeks I have written 68,251 words (not including emails, brief blog posts or ever more frantic to-do lists).
Sixty-eight thousand, two hundred and fifty one.
More than anything, it makes me thankful for computers and the ability to touch-type. Can you imagine how much longer that would have taken on a typewriter or (heaven forbid) with a fountain pen?
I have quite a bit to catch up on, both reading blogs and getting back to posting a little more regularly. It feels like I've missed a lot, and I really have missed being here properly (although the fact I managed any posts at all still amazes me).
I'm also planning a few changes - hopefully with a little bit of reader-input - but that's a subject for another day. For now, I'm looking forward to a weekend of doing not-much-at-all. Especially not tackling the lurking dust-bunnies and mutant cobwebs that crept in while I wasn't looking.
Give it a few more days and I can officially call them Halloween decorations.
