I have something a little different for you today. The picture Gabrielle sent me as this week's PPP challenge arrived in my Inbox just after I'd finished recording a video 'thank you' message (I'm very modern like that).
You can see the original picture over at the green gal, and although I'm not about to inflict my cheesy grin and blethering gratitude on you as well, I do have the video clip that message inspired. First of all, though, the palette:
If you remember, this whole palette business started with a colour tutorial I posted at the Copy+Paste Project last year. Despite the fact there are various websites which will automatically generate them for you, I still prefer making colour swatches by hand. It takes a little longer and (as you'll see) involves quite a lot of messing around, but that's part of the fun. I don't use all of the colours generated, and probably miss out plenty of shades along the way, but the end result is completely personal and unique.
So, speeded up and aided by a little inexpert i-Movie making, this is how the process looks, from picture to palette.
