You might have spotted these when I posted a little preview last week, but I'm really excited to share them properly now the kits are up and listed on Etsy. They were one of the best sellers at the handmade events I did before Christmas, and I've had lovely feedback from a couple of people who bought them (including one customer whose son stitched his puppets instead of glueing them together - I adore the idea of little boys learning to sew!).
Each kit comes packaged in a hand-decorated box tied up with a length of baker's twine, and contains everything you need to make six animal finger puppets - rabbit, lion, frog, pig, elephant and panda. Once you've finished, you can re-use the instructions and templates to make as many more as you like, just adding your own materials, and there are a handful of ideas for other things you can do with the templates, too.
Most of those sold before Christmas were given as presents, but I also like the idea of buying a kit, making up the puppets yourself and then passing them on as a gift. The spotty box holds finished puppets just as well as it does the contents of the kit, and two people (i.e. you and the recipient) get to enjoy playing with it.
If your fingers are twitching at the very thought, head on over to the shop right now and have a closer look.
