What do you say we combine today's Palette Pingpong with a little Etsy update? The gloomy weather this week has been messing with my product photos, but I think those below will just about cut it for the time being.
First things first, though - the palette. Gabrielle challenged me with a fun celebratory photo (pretty appropriate in light of our current business venture), and this was the swatch it inspired.
Rather than using it to make something digitally, I (gasp!) printed it out and headed for the fabric cupboard. One of my favourite new products from our shopping party last week was a line of quilted felt and fabric corsage pins. You can find a handful in the shop right now, along with the three new ones made to celebrate today's pingpong swatch. My original plan was to make just the one, but somehow, I got carried away by the choices - so much fabric, lots of pretty felt and . . . well, you get the idea.
Despite the fact they all take their colour inspiration from the same palette, each pin has quite a different look. I cheated just a little bit with the one below, picking a charcoal-coloured felt for the flower background, rather than selecting a shade from the palette. It does a pretty good job of showcasing the brighter colours, though, so I think we'll let it slip by, yes?
The pins themselves are multi-purpose, which I love. Those with rosette-style ribbons can be worn on coats, jackets, bags, scarves, hats, sweaters and so on, while those without the ribbon trim have an opening behind the brooch pin which allows them to also slide over a hairband, ribbon choker or bangle so you can wear them as jewellery. So, from the back, they look like this:
And when worn, a little like this (only possibly with neater hair in your case).
As an extra thank you to everyone who visits here to read posts and leave comments (let's call you blog readers) I'm offering 20% off all of the corsage pins in my shop, including the three above, between now and Sunday 21st November. Just quote PPP in the 'note to seller' box, and I'll refund the discount via Paypal.
Now I've got the hang of this shelf-stacking thing, there will hopefully be a few more shop updates over the next couple of days. I think maybe some tiny drawings next...
x
