So, like I already mentioned, I'm not a big Christmas fan (I know - sacrilege). As a child, I loved it, but these days it seems to engender very little Christmas spirit; pushing, shoving crowds, overwhelming consumerism and ceaseless rushing around are surely not what the festive season is supposed to be about? Over the last couple of years, though, I've been much cheered watching the online creative community take Christmas back to its more meaningful, personal and happier roots. People pledging to buy handmade, blog posts about specially-created gifts and so many inspiring tutorials on ways to decorate your home have all made me at least want to start enjoying this time of year again. So, in the spirit of joining in, and the hope that I'll do much more next December, here's my small contribution to the pool of decorating ideas
Clothes-peg angels or, if you're in other parts of the world, clothespin angels (yeah, I'm multilingual) are made very simply from scraps of card, paper, ribbon and fabric. Each one is formed on top of a plain wooden clothes-peg (clothespin), and can be used for decoration, function, or both.
- Clip them to the branches of a Christmas tree
- Attach to a length of ribbon or tinsel to create a garland
- Use them to hold Christmas cards clipped to a line or string
- Glue to wrapped presents to decorate and hold a gift-tag
- Clip around a simple wire form to make a wreath
You could also leave out the clothes-peg entirely and just add the angels to cards, tags or other paper projects.

No crowds, no overwhelming consumerism, no rushing around. Meh, humbug.
